Workshop Services

Three Pathways
for Your Timepiece

Each service is scoped to the piece's actual requirements — not a fixed package applied regardless of condition.

Our Methodology

How We Approach Service

All three services share the same intake process: written assessment, photographs, and a conversation with the owner before anything begins. What differs is the scope — determined by the piece's condition and the owner's intentions for it.

A piece coming in for crystal renewal does not need a full movement service if the movement is performing well. A watch that has sat unserviced for fifteen years likely does. We make this assessment openly, present the findings, and proceed according to what the owner decides.

Timelines are realistic. We do not quote short turnarounds to win work and extend them later.

Shared across all services:

Photographic intake record prepared on arrival
Written scope and cost confirmed before work begins
Owner consulted before any non-reversible step
Written results and condition notes accompany the returned piece
Mechanical calibre service

Process Steps

1.Intake assessment — written and photographed
2.Full movement disassembly
3.Staged ultrasonic cleaning of all components
4.Magnification inspection — pivots, jewels, mainspring
5.Reassembly with correct lubrication per contact surface
6.Multi-position regulation, observed over several days
7.Return with written condition and timing notes

Service One

Mechanical Calibre Service

A structured service for mechanical and automatic calibres, suited to pieces reaching their recommended interval or where timekeeping has begun to drift. The work begins with a written intake assessment and photographs, followed by full disassembly, staged ultrasonic cleaning, inspection under magnification, and reassembly with carefully selected lubrication at each contact surface.

Mainsprings, pivot ends, and pallet stones are evaluated and renewed where wear has exceeded operating tolerance. Following reassembly, the movement is regulated across multiple positions and observed over several days before the watch is returned.

Suitable for daily-worn references at service interval
Addresses movements with timekeeping deviation
Returns movement to original published tolerances
Timeline: 3–5 weeks

Service Two

Crystal & Gasket Renewal

A focused service for damaged sapphire, mineral, or acrylic crystals, combined with renewal of the full gasket system — crown, pushers, case back, and crystal seat. The work begins with case opening and careful removal of the existing crystal, followed by inspection of the bezel and case opening for distortion.

Replacement crystals are specified correctly — sapphire for modern luxury references, acrylic preserved on vintage pieces where originality is the owner's preference. Following gasket renewal, dry and wet pressure testing is conducted where the reference's stated water resistance calls for it. A written test result accompanies the returned watch.

Service Three

Premium Restoration Programme

An extended pathway for watches requiring comprehensive attention — typically pieces stored without service for many years, suffered impact damage, or recently acquired without service documentation. The programme addresses the movement, case, bracelet, gasket system, and where relevant the dial and hands.

The owner is consulted throughout. Key decisions — on component sourcing, polishing approach, or the treatment of patina on vintage pieces — are confirmed in writing before any non-reversible action. A photographic record covers each major stage, and a written condition report is prepared on completion.

Suited for important pieces, inherited watches, and references intended for long-term holding within a considered collection. Timeline: 10–16 weeks depending on work depth and parts availability.

Shared Standards

Workshop Protocols Across All Services

Secure Storage On-Site

Pieces in our care are held in a controlled workshop environment. Work-in-progress items are stored securely when not under active attention.

Correct Lubricants

Lubricants are applied to specification for each contact surface — not a single lubricant applied throughout. Different parts of a movement require different viscosity and formulation.

Tolerance-Based Standards

Regulation aims at the published tolerance for the calibre, not a nominal average. Where original specs are unavailable, we reference comparable period production from the same maker.

Minimal Polishing Approach

We do not polish cases unless the owner specifically requests it. Preserving original surface finish — and the wear marks that document a watch's history — is our default position.

Clear Communication

We respond to enquiries during workshop hours and provide progress updates at key stages of the service. You are not left waiting without news.

Written Records Kept

Service records are retained at the workshop. If you return with the same piece in future years, we have documentation of previous work to reference.

Your Watch, Your Decision

Not Sure Which Service Applies?

Bring the watch to the workshop or write with a description of what you have noticed. We will give you an honest view of what is needed — and what can wait.
